Dr. Gena Spencer-Middleton, the owner of Camellia City Acupuncture, Inc. is a national board certified acupuncturist and herbalist, in Sacramento, California. She received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from the Pacific College of Health and Science, San Diego and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis. She is a member of the California State Oriental Medicine Association (CSOMA), the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM) and the North American Journal of Oriental Medicine (NAJOM), and has been practicing for 26 years.
Soon after graduating from acupuncture school, she took up an intense interest in Traditional Japanese Medicine while training under Noriko Nagato sensei for six years before opening her own practice. Dr. Gena often travels to Japan and is honored to study with esteemed master acupuncturists, moxibustionists, and herbalists such as Masakazu Ikeda sensei, Oue sensei, and Edward Obaidey sensei.
Dr. Gena has treated athletes in the United States Track and Field Association and was a part of the medical team for the United States Olympic Trials, as well as treating the homeless through Sacramento Homeless Connect. She believes these highly effective healing methods are for everyone, and passionately gives to others through her knowledge of this wonderful medicine.
